Well, the time has come. With tears welling in my eyes (from the cold, I'm not THAT mushy, sheesh!), I had my last ride today. Nothing spectacular, just puttin' around town, out to the coffee shop and back, the usual route. It was in the upper 50's, windy as hell, but not a cloud in the sky. I thought it ironic that I turned 1600 miles on the last ride before I go back to work on F-16's. Good omen?!
Alas, Uncle Sugar says I can't take the bike with me to Korea. Hell, if the wife and son can't go, it's only fitting he take away my mistress, too.
I'll be in Korea for a year, then it's off to Italy, and trying to fit all three of us on the scoot to ride Europe. 'Might have to get saddlebags for the son, but he's small; I think he'll fit. I'll be lurking the forum until then, so, as we jet mech's say: "Kick the tires, light the fires, turn em and burn em!" Translation: pull chocks, start the engine(s), taxi to the end of the runway, and go full afterburner for takeoff. If that's not your style, just have fun and be safe :) Ride once or twice for me, will ya?!
